Sourires d'hiver — How do you invite Montrealers of all ages to celebrate their nordicity? By creating the winter counterpart to Jardins Gamelin: Glissades Gamelin, a joyful urban sliding station nestled in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles. The challenge: to craft a graphic signature that is welcoming, vibrant, and playful.
hand in hand
Launched by the Partenariat du Quartier des Spectacles, the mandate called for a high level of collaboration: working with existing materials, concealing fixed structures, and ensuring the result was cohesive, safe, and user-friendly, all while allowing the project's new graphic identity to come to life.
the furniture
We began by giving the salvaged furniture a dual role: seating and display. Pleasingly reminiscent of a mountain silhouette, the repurposed panels allow the wayfinding elements to playfully echo the overall theme.
